Also, I'm a very slow person so it took me very long to realize that Carmell Bandicoot is still relevant to this day. It makes me happy to be honest, I barely know about the character and I already felt sorry for her. I wish she'd return for revenge though I know she'd be instantly defeated in a few pages like it's nothing. It's unfortunate really.

Yeah, i know the creator of Carmell followed this blog once. And she definetly doesn’t want to take part in Richie comic anymore.

I know that I’ll have to go through this blog again, but I’d like to know the reason. Of course I partially know why but at the same time I’m curious if there’s more to it.

One thing that makes me question is the ‘cat ears color are same as hair‘ thing.

I cannot say for rayian version but when it comes with Sonic version, it’s always been this way.

Alright, most characters already had their fur, hair and ears in a single blending color. But other characters who had different hair color, their ears was always matching with the fur. [Sally Acorn, Mina Mongoose, Fiona Fox, Sonia the hedgehog etc.]

If the rayian version is going to have cat ears, she’d either make the same color as skin or, well, hair, which now that I think about it, it was your point. [Because that version has pink cat ears which it doesn’t make any sense.]

I don’t know, I guess I thought about bringing it up because you only stated for the hair and not skin as well as an another option.

About the whole "How Julia was borned", he only asked me to draw Julia's desing and a bit of her backstory (which, sadly he disregarded) and if he had consulted me for that comic, I would suggest something better, like a real way of how not only Julia meet Crash, but also how they ended up together.

It is really unfortunate that he did. His version just made the whole thing too confusing. Especially on Juba part. Which is why I made such theory to make things sense.

It’s a classic internet card. He thinks he’s allowed to be um… simpleminded because of it.

However, Richie does say that all the characters in the comic are going to be in their own chapters, but then again, he can’t really handle even six protagonists at once.

Let me put it this way: One of his comics is called “Nintendo Villians Revenge”, and it’s based on an old Disney PC game called “Disney Villians Revenge”, and from what I understand it’s the exact same story except with Nintendo-characters and bandicoots. For example: We have Andross dangling Fox and Crystal over a boiling cooking pot, and Mario and Luigi being turned into old men by Bowser. Logic? There is none.
Another fine example: Game Eater, a comic based the manga-series Soul Eater… which he admits he had never read before. It was just an excuse for him to draw naked ladies. Logic? No thank you, I’m full.
Another whopper: Super Bandicoot God. It almost came as an epiphany when I understood that the only reason he held a contest to design Crash’s new form for CBRxLOCAC was because he didn’t have the creativity to make one himself. The same is probably true about Crash and Julias children.
And then the grand-daddy of ‘em all: Super Bandicoots. Yes, the biggest ripoff in Richies history, combining Crash Bandicoot with Dragonball Z, wasn’t even his own thing to begin with. It’s taken straight from a cutscene in “Mind Over Mutant”, which is made in a style that’s meant to parody Dragonball and anime in general.
So, no, nothing about Richie is original or creative or even competent.
That’s just my oppinion, though.

I realized that one of his comics were pretty much a rip off from Final Fantasy.

But like I’ve said, I can’t say that I’m too shocked.

Yup. It’s either that he copies the whole thing or just copies parts of a thing and fills the remaining holes with clichés and genericness.

You know, I was thinking about making, I guess a rant, about the comic How Julia Was Born. I know it’s been already done in this blog but I want to be more detailed about it. It’s been going through my mind for a while.

I can’t believe he used this scene from Final Fantasy VII Movie: Advent Children. And it’s not even the only scene, I recognized other few in the same comic.

I can’t speak for the whole movie as there are some differences and I didn’t watch the whole thing but as soon I saw this page I knew it was damn familiar.

Hiya! Gosh, I loved your latest boom!sonamy animation, complete or not! I'm trying to learn some animating tips from a few hobbyist animators I know of like e-vay, who's already helped me a bunch. I was wondering how you get your 'popping' effect in your animations? Like I noticed the blinks look super cartooney, if that's the right term, and I love it. Think you could explain how you do that in a way I'd probably understand???

but erhem.. i’ll try and explain it <:D

for this example, i will be using searching-for-banana-flies’ inkling, “Blue”, because he’s too darn adorkable :3

^^so you wanna achieve this eye-bounce effect, yes?

oki, well the way i do it, I of course start with the first frame of eyes and hold it for a few seconds, and then i redraw the first frame of the eyes to add that smooth little transition to the midblink.

now, when his eyes close, i redraw several more of the frames and hold the sixth frame for a few seconds again

Now here comes the stretch frame of his eyes! the frame after the stretch is slightly squished, and then i add one last frame to smoothen out the squash frame before it.

This small animation is 9 frames, but of course there’s more ways of animating the eyes, like the eye roll (for them sassy characters :3c )

just practice and you’ll get it in no time ^-^’’
